I accept payments in the form of cash, Venmo, or Paypal prior to the massage.
While most every horse can benefit from massage, there are a contraindications to look out for. For example, if your horse is suffering from fever, cancer, or shock, I will not perform a massage. Massage increases the body's metabolism and lowers blood pressure, and while these are typically beneficial to the horse, it may be harmful in the former three conditions. Other than that, horses across all ages, breeds, and soundness, can benefit immensely from a massage!
Well, first I unfold my horse-sized massage table -- kidding. The best place to perform a massage is in the horse's stall, somewhere familiar to them as a place of rest. This allows them to feel safer and more relaxed, as well as decrease any distractions that may be found in cross-ties or elsewhere in the barn. It is helpful to have your horse in their stall prior to my arrival.
You are more than welcome to be present for the massage, as I enjoy sharing my craft with horse owners. However, as long as there is someone on the property to direct me toward your horse, I can perform the massage without the owner present.
